45-Day Ceasefire Possible Between US & Iran
US media have claimed that important talks are underway between the US, Iran and a group of regional mediators for a possible ceasefire, under which a 45-day ceasefire is being considered.
According to reports, the proposed agreement will consist of two phases. The first phase will see a 45-day temporary ceasefire during which negotiations will continue between the parties to end the war permanently and confidence-building measures will also be considered to reduce tensions.
In the second phase, a formal agreement is expected to be reached to completely end the war. According to sources, if the negotiations require more time, the temporary ceasefire may be extended.
Sources say that the chances of reaching a final or major agreement in the next 48 hours are slim, but this diplomatic effort is being seen as an important and possibly last chance to prevent further escalation in the war.
On the other hand, the White House and the US State Department have not yet given any official response in this regard, which continues to cause uncertainty in the situation.
