Remittances Increase, Overseas Pakistanis Sent Billions of Dollars Home in March
Despite the ongoing war situation in the Middle East, overseas Pakistanis have sent significant foreign exchange home during March, supporting the country’s economy.
According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis remitted $3.83 billion in March 2026. Remittances recorded a 17 percent increase on a monthly basis, but were down 5.5 percent on an annual basis.
According to statistics, Pakistan received a total of $30.3 billion in remittances in the first 9 months of the current fiscal year, which is 8 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The highest remittances were received from Saudi Arabia during March, where Pakistanis living in the country sent home $920 million. This was followed by Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates, who sent $820 million.
Similarly, Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom remitted $590 million and Pakistanis living in the United States remitted $360 million.
