Trump Gives Iran Final Deadline, Threatens to Destroy Power Plants if Deal Not Made

US President Donald Trump has given Iran a final deadline of tonight to open the Strait of Hormuz and agree to a deal, saying that severe action will be taken if the demands are not met.

Addressing a press conference, President Trump said that today’s deadline for Iran is the last and if a deal is not made, Iran’s power plants and infrastructure will be targeted. He threatened that if progress is not made by the deadline, every power plant in Iran will be destroyed before noon.

The US President said that there are elements within Iran that are in favor of negotiations and that talks are ongoing with the new leadership. He claimed that there are active and serious participants for a ceasefire, while a few important countries are playing a mediating role.

Trump added that the United States was close to a deal with Iran in the past, but the negotiations failed. According to him, tough decisions were made then too, and if a deal is not reached this time, more tough measures will not be avoided.

He claimed that if the US targets Iran’s infrastructure, it could take decades to restore it, and in some cases up to a hundred years.
