World Leaders Seek to Secure Oil Supplies Before Iran, Us Ceasefire Expires

World leaders are scrambling to secure oil and fuel supplies before a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the US expires.

Japan has confirmed that it will release 20 days of its oil reserves by next month, while monitoring the flow of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, Japanese media reports said.

Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is on a visit to Singapore, where he is trying to secure fuel supplies for his country.

US Vice President JD Vance is also arriving in Islamabad to lead peace talks with Iran, which begin on Saturday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, has told his cabinet to prepare to begin talks on a peace deal with Lebanon. The development comes at a time when hundreds of people were killed in Lebanon in Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday.
