Prime Minister Summoned in PTA Tribunal Case

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court summoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and remarked that the Prime Minister should appear in court in personal capacity on May 18. The Prime Minister should come and explain why the tribunal member finance was not appointed.

Remarks on Tribunal Appointments

The Assistant Attorney General said that a retired judge has been appointed as a member of the tribunal, to which Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that retired judges have sunk the ship more, retired judges are more fond of going to tribunals.

Judicial Concerns Over Delays

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that if he misses the salute at night, he will not let him sleep. If someone’s heart desires, he gets involved in the NIRC, while someone gets appointed to some other tribunal.

Deadline Given by Court

The judge remarked that if the finance member is not appointed by May 18, the Prime Minister should appear in court. In the absence of appointment, the Prime Minister should come and explain why the finance member was not appointed.
